About

Why PCS?

Here at Providence Christian we educate the whole child–mind, body, and soul. This is the heart of Providence Christian School. The transformation that takes place throughout the year is exciting to watch! Students grow academically, spiritually, socially, and physically. Smiles, laughter, games, learning, activities, fun, studying, friends, music, computers. All these things and more transform your student into the unique individual God intends him or her to be.

All activities here at PCS are done through the lens of faith, bringing faith to life in real and meaningful ways. Children worship together through weekly chapel services, give to their local and global community through service projects, and teachers integrate the Biblical worldview into each subject, not just Bible class. We encourage each student to understand more than a religion, but a life of faith.

Why choose Providence Christian? Because we value:

  • Quality academics
  • Faithfulness to God’s Word
  • Excellence in all areas of school life
  • A caring and nurturing community

  •  Servant leadership in service for others
  • Establishing and fostering respectful relationships
  • Most of all, we value you and your child

Don’t take our word for it, come see for yourself the Providence Christian difference.

Welcome

Welcome to the new and improved website for Providence Christian School!  We are glad that you have chosen to visit our site.  Providence Christian School is part of the San Joaquin Valley Christian School Association, which includes Providence Christian and Stone Ridge Christian High School.

Though we are only 5 years old, we have deep roots in the greater Merced area and are thriving as a great place for students to grow academically in a Christian environment.   Currently our enrollment is over 200 Pre-K through eighth grade.  Our goal is excellence in what we offer parents and students.  Though our theme this year is “Under Construction”, we work each and every year to offer our best with God’s help to our parents and students.  We are committed to preparing our students well for high school and beyond!

So, take a look around and contact us with any questions that you have. If you are not already a Providence Patriot family, we would love to talk with you about what we have to offer and how you and your student(s) could join with us in our building project of sharpening minds and hearts for the future and for God.

– Steve Moody, Principal

  • Generational – a lasting school that has generations of students and supporters.

Statement of Faith

The basis of Stone Ridge Christian High School is the Word of God as interpreted by the following statement of faith.  We believe….

  1. God the Father – That God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, co-eternal and are one God. (Genesis 1:1,2; Matthew 28:19; John 1:3)
  2. God the Son – That Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  He is co-equal with the Father and possesses all the attributes of deity.  (Matthew 1:22,23; John 1:1; John 10:30-33)
  3. God the Holy Spirit – That the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and is a divine person possessing all of the attributes of God. (John 14:16,17; Acts 5:3,4)
  4. The Bible – That the Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20, 21)
  5. Man – That man was made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character.  Man’s sin has separated him from God. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23)
  6. Salvation – That salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness. (Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:1-6)
  7. Eternal Destiny – That man was created to exist forever. We either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. (Revelation 20:15; John 14 1-6)
